A Kind Word From A Referring Attorney
We were referred an automobile accident case by Kenny Rotenstreich a couple of years ago. The case involved three individuals who were hit head on by another driver. One of the individuals settled his case. The other was not happy with the offer so we filed suit. And, the
third decided to take the company's policy limits settlement offer just before the statute of limitations ran out. Shortly after the statute of limitations had run, the adjuster for the company calls our firm, tells us they made a mistake, they wanted to reopen negotiations, and revise their offer. We agreed, but they never revised their offer, so we filed suit against the company and the adjusters for fraud, misrepresentation and bad faith. As a result, they paid an exceedingly greater amount than the original policy limits.
Jon:
Thank you for your good work and professionalism in taking a leadership role in the handling of the personal injury cases for my clients, Steven, Edward and Michael. The work you performed was outstanding. Each of them are very satisfied with your results and I, as an Insurance Defense Attorney by trade, am astonished by what we were able to accomplish. In my practice, I see many plaintiff attorneys run away from a challenge or threat created by the insurance industry. You instead stood toe to toe with one of the biggest and most influential companies in the country.
When I learned of the misrepresentation that was made to you and the attempt by the insurance company to “make it right” through an apology and a “reasonable defense settlement offer” before you filed suit, I felt certain that the case would be over and you, like almost all other plaintiff attorneys, would take the offer made. Rather, your experience and determination took over, and you filed suit directly against the insurance company, challenging it on each and every representation and misrepresentation that had occurred. This act of “courage” on your part really paid off for Michael. Your settlement was three (3) times the value of the case, and resulted in a most favorable settlement for Michael.
Jon, you are one hell of an attorney. I only hope that I have another case that I can refer to you, so I can work with you in the future.
Thanks again for all of your help.
Sincerely,
Kenneth Rotenstreich
